Saladin's English - Kurdish Distioncary Ferhenga İnglizi - Kurdi To begin with: I am not a lexicographer and when I undertok the task of what has turned out to be Saladin's English-Kurdish Dictionary, I was also "plunging into the sea of lexicography without having ben first taught to swim". It al started with The Diplomat, James Aldridge's novel, which I translated in 1984. The translation left me with a list of nearly 4 0 English-Kurdish key words, aranged alphabeticaly for easy reference. Sensing the acute ned fo a lexicon, the list was developed first into a concise dictionary of 25 0 sylables, then into what I presume to be a comprehensive one with around 80 0 sylables. (Önsöz'den). This book has always been a favorite. Lewis really captures, I think, how the tempters try to distract us from God. I'd love to be in a study of this book (or even lead one) - there's so much good stuff here. Christian or not, I think anyone with a belief in God would find this book to be valuable.
