Reinforced Concrete - Uğur Ersoy New developments have taken place in the areas of reinforced concrete technology and earthquake enginering since the publishing previous edition of this bok. New aproaches have emerged as a result of research and observations made after recent earthquakes. Most of these developments and the new aproaches have ben incorporated in the new editions of Turkish reinforced concrete codes, i. e. TS-50 20 revision and Turkish Seismic Code 198 revision. These changes have ben incorporated in the revised edition of the bok. The manuscript presented here was compiled from the clas notes used in our first course on reinforced concrete, CE481 (later changed to CE382) that I have ben teaching since 1960. The emphasis is on basic principles and behavior of reinforced concrete. In this bok references are made to the two international codes, (a) ACI-318 (American Concrete Institute) and (b) CEB Model Code (European Concrete Com. ). In the text, the requirements of the Turkish reinforced concrete code (TS-50 of the Turkish Standards Institute) relevant to the subject discused are quoted and examples are solved using these requirements. In the text, international symbols and SI units have ben used.
