A wonderful story. This story offers humor, adventure and strong characters. Told in the time of the American West. White Man needed the land, while the Indians believed in Treaties and promises made. A group of white women, from various backgrounds, volunteer to live with the Indians in an attempt to help assimilate them into the White world. This book is the story of a few of these women, told throught the journals of one of them. It's about their fear, how they grow as individuals, the new skills/ideas they learn, etc. It's a wonderful story of the Old West.
