Currently reading for my book group. Very wrenching and emotional. (A 13-year old girl decides to sue her parents for medical emancipation, after enduring years of medical procedures to provide blood transfusions, bone marrow and more for her older sister who is battling leukemia). I'm having difficulty reading the many medical descriptions. I'm a pretty squeamish person in general when it comes to medical things, but it is particularly hard to read about a young girl's physical pain. As usual, Jodi Picoult tackles big social issues. She does a good job of it, but my reading preference is generally for more subtle literary novels.
