I liked this book, although I do think he exaggerates a lot of the great things about Europe. The events in France recently have shown that there are some serious problems with the European model, as have the economic problems facing the Scandinavian model. It is worth a read though. Where he is right on is that the European pace of life is generally much more conducive to being human/living, than the American model.

I think the story has wrapped up nicely and yet there is still some chance to continue the story. I like fantasy sotries because I like the world to be anything the author wants it to be. The plot moves along and there are plenty of twists in the story to keep you hooked. I had to force myself to put the book down and get some sleep. I have several students that are already curious. The plot mirrors events in history and opens up discussion points if you want to talk with your students about it. I would read this story over again.
