I thought this book would be interesting, but serious. It certainly has serious parts, and the story Grennan tells is at times heartbreaking and unnerving. But it's much more than that. The narrator really brings the story alive--making me laugh out loud and really think about the transformation he went through in Nepal. Grennan has the easy storytelling I associate with Bill Bryson, and with it he tells a story that opened my eyes to a country I knew little about. A bit slow at times, but the story and narrative voice are well worth reading.
