Very quick read, but then it is meant for kids/tweens. I read it in a day. Sweet retelling of the Cinderella story though. If you like reading different versions of fairy tales which I do, then you should definitely read this book. I have always loved fairy tales and Cinderella is one of my favorites.

I really wish JSF would write short stories more often. This book is full of wondrous little vignettes and passages that are extraordinary. But it doesn't hang together, and by the end of it I wondered what the point of it was. He is more of a poet who writes in prose. There is a lot to love about this book and I recommend it, but don't expect a masterpiece. It's just pretty and makes you think.
