It took me a while to get into this book but I'm glad I hung with it. The prose sets the Victorian period mood and Clara is a great character. The description of the work that went into the design and production of Tiffany windows and lamps was interesting but sometimes a little too technical. After I finished this book I pored over the beautiful book, The Lamps of Louis Comfort Tiffany, by Martin Eidelberg et al, to get a better visual of Vreeland's description of the work. Eidelberg's book includes a photo of "the Tiffany Girls." Now I want to read Clara and Mr. Tiffany again with Eidelberg's book at hand.
