I've read 2 other Ivan Doig books and have like them all. But the best part of all of them is his writing style. I've never particularly wanted, nor am I able, to write. But if I did and could, I'd want to write like him.

Should I begin with: DAMN - talk about a body count! I teared up/cried on all but the first two...not that they weren't sad too...but it wasn't the same. Hedwig Mad-Eye Moony Dobby Tonks Remus Fred Colin Snape I feel kind of whatever with the Draco thing - I enjoyed Ron calling him a bastard :) and the epilogue...I mean I guess it's realistic...he named his kid "Scorpian King whaeverus" ie "Hi I'm supposed to be the super evil child" or something to that effect...that was kinda lame and unnecessarily dramatic... . BUT I loved the way it went down with Draco's madre....that was pretty cool and plausable in my mind. It was interesting that they gave Draco so many opportunities for redemption but he fell flat on all of them. But clearly wasn't this book about redmeption along with unrequited love? AND speaking of mothers how cool was Mrs. Weasley? Molly went postal on Bellatrix - can I get a hell ya! Homegirl is HARDCORE!. "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!" I had always felt that it would have been too obvious for Snape to REALLY be a "bad guy" - after 6 books of Harry and the gang hating him it was just too - I don't know...too- TOO - kwim? And I was not disappointed. I had always assumed that Dumbledore was pleading for Snape to kill him (though I had no idea he was on death's door already etc...) But when I re-read 6, right before 7, I noticed that Slughorn had mentioned how talented Lily was in Potions and I asked myself - why? And why had her potions skills never been mentioned before? AND THEN it made me think that since Dumbledore was all about love, perhaps the "iron clad" evidence McGonagal stated Dumbledore had was Snap's love for Lily Evans. When I arrived at the chapter where Harry saw all of Snape's memories I sobbed like a baby. Being right about that prediciton made that chapter even MORE painful I think. I never thought I would be so inspired by and broken hearted for Severus Snape. I am such a sappy-ass romantic that I absolutely LOVE that character now! 7 took over 1st place from book 4 for me....I don't think it could have ended better. It was BEYOND perfect! I sobbed hardest when I was sure he was marching to his death talking to his deceased loved ones- I just kept thinking over and over how unfair it was!!! Seriously I barely made it through the pages my eyes were gushing with tears....it was amazing. I was solid he was going to die. Jo Rowlings never ceased to amaze me. She deserves every penny she's made! Complaints? I know this sounds lame of me....I was very frustrated that they never offered a REASON - NO KIND OF EXPLAINATION for Voldemort's new found ability to FLY....without a broom .... WHAT was THAT about? The hubster is very angry with Ron and doesn't know that he will ever be able to forgive him for walking out (the family is in the middle of book 7 so he doesn't know that Ron returns yet). But loyalty IS a big thing with the Mr. - hopefully he'll get over it LOL I am sad it's over and am planning my snape tattoo as I type this
