I really liked the idea of this book and it was fun to read, but there were a few things that detracted from the book. First, the dialogue didn't seem very realistic. I didn't feel like people would actually talk that way. Also, Emily would think something and then basically say the exactly what she thought out loud. It seemed unnecessary to repeat everything. The descriptions seemed repetitive too. It is enough to say that Emily loves history and old things once, it doesn't need to be said five times. Overall, I enjoyed the book and am excited for the next one.
