The Giver is a book that should be read by people with open-minds. I thought that in some parts the author could have told more that just letting the reader think about it, which is unusual because usually you'd want to conclude things about the story yourself. But in this case, I feel that at times when the reader (me) DID have to conclude, I got a little confused about what the author was trying to say because I didn't know if what I inferred was correct. Though, all in all, I liked how the story wad told and the idea of how life could be like that.
