It did a good job of providing closure to a series I started in 10th grade (1982!)...that's nearly a 30 year span of waiting for "the next Jean M. Auel" book, Wow, kind of sad the wait is over! If you have not read any other of Jean M. Auel's books do not start with this one, go back and chose any of the other 5 (in order or randomly). They are all excellent. This one was a little tedious unless you were a devoted fan.
