I had to read "Mrs Dalloway" for a Literature course -- lucky me. Virginia Woolf is not my cup of tea. That said, she was a powerful writer that anyone who wants to write can learn from. The power of her characterizations brings these people to life. I felt like I knew them. Incredible writing does not a story make, however. Nothing much happens here. Am I glad I had to read it? Yes. Am I anxious to re-read and learn more from Woolf's fantastic ability to describe the mundane. No.
