This was a cute story. There was lots of humor and lots of romance. I liked the wide cast of characters and the personalities and descriptions of each. (Although on the back cover, it says that the ghost in Jazz's car is named Norma, but in the actual book, the ghost's name is Irma..hmm).
This series was the one that dominated my childhood. These books are great fun, and good learning experiences for young readers. I re-read this book about 3 years ago and remembered why I loved it so much as a kid. I soon hope to go on and read all the other ones again, as well as the others that have come out since then.
Just what I needed after reading Ender in Exile. One simple story that resonates with the THEMES of the other books without trying to tie into every one of their plotlines. I thought it was particularly poignant that Zek's pacifism seems crazy to others because the battleroom is "just a game", but if you've read Ender's Game you know how that turns out. Not a big fan of the overdramatic readers on this audiobook, though.
One of my favorite plays to watch and perform. Farce at it's best and when you have a good cast it simply cannot be beat. I thought the movie was really well done too, but how can you wrong with a cast that has carol burnett, michael caine, and john ritter in it. Brilliant!
