Well crafted thriller which I believe is the first in the Spider Shepherd series. Plenty of action.

My favorite part of this book was hearing about how they used different materials. The "hard times" part of the book doesn't come across in a complaining tone, but just subtly reminds us of just how much excess we have and even if we aren't living in luxury, how much stuff we accumulate. It makes you reflect on your own consumption habits when you read about a family cutting up old worn out bed sheets to make bandages.
