I love this guy's in your face style. The title says it all, the "I'm not pretentious, so I'm going to go all out to make fun of myself". He can't, however, hide the fact that the writing is good. His bitterness at the loss of his mother hurts to read. His contempt for the people who gush because he does the right thing in raising his little brother, makes you want to temper your admiration for him. But not a lot.
