I was a bit afraid because she is the author of the Twilight series which I found a bit juvenile but this one was really good.

** spoiler alert ** Decided to get caught up on the series because to many spoilers keep happening due to social media and the HBO series. Game of Thrones is a series about the quest for power and once you learn that it makes the books much more enjoyable. Don't read them expecting some complete change to the fantasy genre. Martin creates characters you love to hate better than anyone I've read and you never know who will die and who will die as well. The man loves death to his characters so keep your emotions ready. Eddard just wasn't made for this wicked world; RIP Eddard. I know Martin has many more evil things planned but killing off the main character full of honor in the world was rather bold in the first book. Will the Starks prevail? Who knows and with Martin you will never know.

I love the pictures of adorable babies, depicting a wide range of emotions, and so will babies.

The highlight of the book is the childish drawings of clowns having sex while on bouncy balls, skateboards, and while floating through the air holding balloons. It really makes you want to have freaky clown sex.

I really thought I'd like this book and for the most part I did, but it was the constant complaining that really got to me. I loved the tidbits that I could agree with, the jokes and whinging about certain Britishisms, but they weren't enough to make up for the constant bitching about how crappy some of the places he visited in England were. Well, of course you aren't going to see much if you don't get in your car and drive out to more remote locations. You just can't see the best of England by public transport! I especially was bothered by how you skimmed over my home county (Devon) there is soooo much more to it than Exeter! Anyway, it was interesting to learn a few new facts about the country I now call home, but I was disappointed overall by the constant complaints.
