I was really dissapointed by this book. While the story was a good one, the book dragged on and on with little or no climax. Some parts dragged on forever, and the parts I really wanted to read were pages short. I do think this is an important book in introducing the maintstream to the world of gender studies and the realities of intersex people, but it seemed that at points the author was grasping for surreal things to fill the pages when the actual core concept of the story is not very surreal. I did learn a lot about Detroit, however.
