This book imagines drastic changes to American culture and politics beginning in the 1980's. Basically, a controlled and conservative religious state. I like stories that deal with predictions about the future that didn't come true. Since this book was written before the rise of the internet, there was still the fear of information being controlled. It's interesting to think about how powerful the free flow of ideas is, especially looking at the current protests in the Middle East.
