first modern novel...amazing

A little girl tells us how her perfect mother is ruining her life! She is trying to to make her do what she doesn't fun ending and I love what they are wearing in this. Grades 2+

My all time favorite book. Although I can not say that I am in complete agreement with all of Heller's views of the total absurdity of war, I have never had it presented in such a powerful, vivid way. Yossarian is the embodiment of the base, human instinct to survive. I laughed out loud at certain parts of the book, but after I closed the back cover I had to take a week or two to think it out. I don't think I would recommend the sequel, "Closing Time" though. It changed my view of Yossarian and some of the other characters in a way that I thought was detrimental to "Catch 22."
