Funny and odd and clever, and Gantos is a great narrator.

I couldn't put this book down. It was a fascinating study of Genghis Khan and the Mongolian Empire. Genghis Khan's life ends about half-way through, and the rest of the book is about his legacy and the Mongolian rule and image post-GK. This book will definitely keep your attention.
