It's a beautifully written book. I often find myself admiring the way O'Brien used language and the way he organized the stories (or not) when reading. I'm not sure why I didn't enjoy this book as much as others did; maybe I simply cannot truly enjoy war stories, even though for the most part the stories were definitely not about the gruesome, bloody aspects of war. (Maybe it's just a little too depressed for me.)
It was a cute book with many many underlying symbols. Not as good as I expected but I did like it.
