What a gem of a book! Although I wanted to shake Lottie a few times for her snobbery and selfishness, she redeemed herself in the end and I know she had learned some hard lessons and ultimately made the right choices. Dora had such a classy, kind, and admirable way about her, and I really enjoyed her side of the story. I loved the inclusion of historical facts tucked neatly into the novel (Bram Stoker being on the Etruria, descriptions of the Mulberry Street area of NYC, etc.). You can't help but want things to work out for the best for these two girls, the whole way through the story. And they do. Although I did feel sorry for the poor lads that were not chosen by Lottie or Dora; I hope they find the love they deserve, too.

It was fun but I liked the book much better than the movie :) The movie kind of made my prediction and my imagination of the character's look different which was kind of disappointing but still it was very interesting but a little too violent :)
