** spoiler alert ** One of my favorite HP books. It's a real turning point in the series' overall plot line. It retains the more light-hearted mood of the earlier books, while preparing the reader for the intensity of the later books. Easy to read again and again, despite the size. Although, the more times I read it, the more I find that there are editing errors. For example, when the glove appears out of Voldemort's wand, it vanishes immediately, while the "echoes" of his victims remain until a minute after the wands have broken contact. Furthermore, Voldemort didn't kill Cedric, so his body shouldn't have come out of the wand--Voldemort simply gave the order "Kill the spare!" (and not with his wand), so Wormtail killed him. Finally, Harry's father was killed before his mother, so as the figures appeared in reverse chronological order, his mother should have appeared before his father--NOT how it appears in the book. There are other such similar errors throughout the book, small things; those were just three within one chapter. Urgh! It's a little thing, and I still love Harry Potter and the whole series, but it bugs me when I read them. You'd think that the editor would've caught it on such a high-profile book!
I love this book....everyone should read it.
