Absolutely amazing. I cried at the end.

I fought through the first 80 pages or so of this book. There were so many characters, and there was so many facts about their histories for the reader to absorb; these things made it hard for me to immediately sink into the story. It was a difficult beginning. However, once I got a good handle on the specifics, the story engrossed me. I stayed up until 6:30 AM (no, I haven't started working fulltime yet) reading it. Anyhow, the action and character development was brilliantly resolved: brutal, frank, devastating. I wish I had taken advantage of his A2 visit and talked to him (even though I heard he was reserved and a little hard to communicate with) rather than sneaking into his Cottage Inn dinner and gorging myself on pizza.
