This was a fun, "bookie" book. Very much for those of us in the trade. I enjoyed the unusual setting (Barcelona, immediate post-civil-war) and it was certainly chock-a-block full of drama, romance, excitement. I'm not sure why but personally I did have a hard time becoming invested in the characters. However, I think most people would enjoy it thoroughly.
