I found the first three narratives (Sean's, Cameron's, and Dara's) hard to stick to. While I was reading them, I'd be quite engrossed, but when I next picked the book back up, I'd have a hard time remembering who was who and what was what. Not a good sign. Finally, Abigail's narrative really grabbed me and made me stay focused. Abigail's realization about her friend Dara hit me like a ton of bricks, "One night a few weeks after Dara's death she had awoken to the thought that she would never again use her friend's name in the same way, to address or summon her. Her vocabulary was forever, one word smaller." How utterly sad. After the death of my very dear friend in July, I know exactly how she felt.
