I wanted to check this out after reading The Paris Wife -- this was the book dedicated to Hadley. It was interesting to read his early work. His sparse, direct style is especially apparent in these short stories and sketches, and I can see why he changed the world of literature. Knowing some of Hemingway's backstory made it especially meaningful.
