Within the framework of a group of women gossiping over coffee, Satrapi wryly explores sex and female sexuality in Iranian culture. Much slighter than Persepolis (it can easily be read in half an hour), it's a fun, breezy read with plenty of humor, but it also conveys volumes about the heavy social restrictions placed on women in Iran and the often byzantine ways women get around those restrictions. As always, Satrapi's childlike art and simple plotting conceal a sophisticated grasp of graphic storytelling.
