I was on a desert island and had nothing else to read. Honest. Actually, it wasn't bad; it just wasn't mind-blowing.

I read this in an all-to-brief Ian McEwan fever. Having read Atonement, I figured he could be my next big authorly obsession, but it wasn't too be. This sucked compared to Atonement, and I don't think I really care for his "voice" so to speak.

I was never hooked, but it was a solid story.

i am reading this book right now and it is off to a good start.
