Maybe it's because I had set my expectations low after several people old me it wasn't good, but I LOVED this in a way I haven't loved a Sedaris book since Me Talk Pretty One Day. I even checked it out if the library rather than buying it, but now I want to own it. Yes, it's dark. Yes, Sedaris assigns awful human behavioral to animals. However, it has heart and more than enough humor to make me laugh out loud.
