This will always be one of my favorites. I know the writing is a bit "old" and stuffy, with difficult vocabulary in places, but the timeless romance and Lizzy's character appeal to me. When I read this as a teen (young adult literature was not as prevalent as it is today), I wanted to be Lizzy - independent, witty, intelligent, and beautiful. If you like romance, and you can get past the language, you'll love this book.
