#SPOILERS INCLUDED!!# Um...yeah...well, shock value should be 5 stars because I did NOT see that ending coming. Really surprised me. On the other hand, it's not really the kind of ending you can LIKE. I mean, the girl he got into such trouble physically and emotionally over was playing him the entire time?? Dude! I think he should take his baseball bat out again.

This started out better than I was expecting, and I got all excited to read it, but by the end of the first chapter, it was back to the usual fare. I'm not complaining, because I still read the usual fare, don't I? But by the end, I had had my mix of McClure, and I'm done now. In this book, the scarlet Princess and the Crimson Knight share a kiss after he wins a tournament and her kiss is the prize. Then, the country goes to war, and to protect the Princess, the Knight is commissioned to marry her and take her into hiding. Naturally, there is more kissing. This fits right into the other books Ms. McClure has written.
