I really did enjoy this book and it led to a great book club discussion. I'm writing this review after finishing another book so I'm trying to recall exactly what I thought of it... It is sad but funny at times and so amazing to see what these children became after such a difficult childhood. It also changed my view on homeless people and made me realize that a lot of them really do have some sort of disorder - just like it made clear in the movie "The Soloist". It was written very well and made me count my blessings.

I'm not a history (or legend) kind of fan, so to give this book 4 stars means it's just that good. And I love Merlore, as I like to call it.
