I say 3.5 to maybe 4 stars. I didn't feel I could rate it any higher (than I did) having not really read it all. There is lot's of interesting stuff in there. I'm impressed with the author and all the knowledge in church history he has been able to gather. I'll probably skim through his other book, "500 MORE little known facts in Mormon History." someday.
Self-help checklists? Yup. Apocalyptic poetry? Yup. Long and detailed descriptions of mundane activities? Yup. Excessive use of Tori Amos quotes? Yup. This book was definitely an apt sampling of my middle school and high school journaling techniques, for better or worse. Favorite Quotes: God only knows how he felt about me. God's the only one who knows. Actually, he's not. There are two people: God and Mark's sister Amy. THAT BITCH! Sex is, and should be, a mingling of souls. A unification of minds. An expression of endless passion through properly fitting anatomy. I WILL do pot with my neighbor's parents in really weird places. And you can't stop me from buying that oversized flannel on sale for $7.88 at Walmart.
