I received this pre-printer's proof copy of the novel via the Good Reads First Reads program. Overall, I was very disappointed with the novel. There were two many characters, not enough explanation on the hierarchy of the Catholic church for me to successfully finish reading the book. I finally gave up about 50 pages to the end. I was so confused by who was who and who was on what side of the battle that it wasn't worth the effort to finish the book. I'm assuming the Catholic church and the Pope succeeded in protecting the secret documents that everyone was fighting over because the Catholic Church is "always right." Book was a Good Reads First Reads giveaway.
