A nice lecture... but more than a bit pedantic.

I had tired of Thursday Next in the second book. In this series, Jack Spratt is a detective in the Nursery Crime Division. He hasn't had a guilty verdict in 5 years. Even the 3 pigs got off on killing the (vegetarian) wolf. There is reference to a Sarcastic's Anonymous, which I thought I could attend....but I'm not ready to quit.

Too fluffy. Lots of clever turns of phrase but no substance.
