I DID IT!! I finished book 5!

I think it's fair to call Kerouac slightly dated. I can understand why his novels would be so popular in his time, but they just don't resonate as well today. The book drags on and repeats itself frequently. Having said that On the Road is still worth a read. There are moments in which Kerouac writes absolutely beautifully.
