I liked the premise of this story - 1860s steampunk Seattle filled with a poison gas that turns people into zombies. However, there wasn't as much characterization as I would've liked (and I know, I know, you don't always get in-depth character development, especially in genre books). The language bothered me too; it was too modern - "weird" kept popping up, for example. Overall, a decent book.
