OMG! Absolutely loved this book! Ofcourse I've thoroughly enjoyed the other books in this series, but for some reason, this one just jumped out and caught me from beginning to end. Ashes of Midnight tells Andre's story. Of all the things I expected, Andre's "gift" was def a suprise and added an extra edginess and darkness to the story that for me bumped it from four stars to five stars. Besides the nonstop action, suspense, and plot twists, I loved Andre's and Claire's characters, especially the tension and love between them. And ofcourse, I liked catching up w/ the other characters and their mates, as well as, finding out more about Dragos and his revolution. One of the things I like about this series, is each book can stand alone. Although I would highly recommend reading them in order! I would definately recommend this book, and the others in the series.

The Book Thief is a beautiful story, narrated by death, that is a reminder of the power of words. I would recommend this book to any teen or adult.

Man, I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. I'm a fan of all the characters, especially Miles and Alaska. Knowing nothing about the story except that it was "darker than An Abundance of Catherines," I kept flipping pages, wondering what the author was counting down to. And unless someone ruins it for you, you probably will too. Great story, with a great ending.

This eccentric and odd-paced book seemed a bit disjointed and confusing to me at first. I stuck with it, mostly because I am a great admirer of the author's film Withnail and I. It paid off, as I enjoyed the last 2/3 of the book much more than the first third. I didn't particularly care for some of it, but sometimes the author would write something so incredibly true and insightful about human relations, or something so beautiful or otherwise moving, that it made the book extremely worthwhile.

Disclaimer: I love Dick Van Dyke. If you don't love Dick Van Dyke, I can assure you the problem lies with you, and not with Dick Van Dyke. While this isn't a comprehensive autobiography, I thought it was brave of him, at this point in his life, to lay out his foibles and imperfections in such a matter-of-fact fashion. It's an enjoyable show-biz memoir, and a reminder that nice guys occasionally do finish first.
