well, *i* liked it. we can go in circles discussing Mildmay's "overproduced" dialect, but if you--like me--like the character, you won't mind. if you don't-- you probably won't like the book. I think Monette is a fantastic entertainer and her world is layered and intricate and thoroughly enjoyable. let's put it this way, i liked it enough to carry it around with me and read it in the subway despite the embarrassment of having a fabio (A FREAKING FABIO! WTF MAN?! WTF!) on the cover.
