This is without question the best book on craft I have ever read. It is intended for writers whose aspirations are literary. It has moments of pomposity which are nevertheless easy to skim over because of the wealth of tips and tricks and most importantly, honest discussions about what makes a story work. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys writing or reading fiction.

I thought the book was good. A love story that spanned a lifetime, with a few little rewinds and fast-forwards thrown in. My only problem was having to recheck what date I was reading a few times to make sure I was completely following the story, but other than that it was great.
