I love love loooooooove this book. I don't know how it was for the rest of you, but I found it to be ridiculously interactive. "Don't listen to them, Jody!" I would shriek at the page. "You're being forced into an agrarian society that shuns technology, all because your stupid president is a fathead bigot who didn't get the girl in the first book!!!" The vast differences between this and Keeper of the Isis Light are as startling to the reader as they are to poor Olwen, who seems completely incapable of understanding how society down in the valley could have changed so vastly in a comparatively short time span. It's reassuring to know that Jody, at least, is probably going to go home and rock some social change. Having not read the third book in the series, I can't completely back that up, but I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the best.
