When I first opened the book, I thought the format between the two characters was odd. But once i started reading it I became in depth with the characters. It is a great funny book that keeps me wanting more! I will deffinately read Caprice Cranes other books.

Such a fabulous novel, twenty years old this year. Dan Bennett has been recommending these books since Clarion, but the old covers never appealed to me. Nor, to be honest, did the Arabic setting. But the new packages are beautiful, and the reviews are uniformly of a gobsmacked quality, so I picked up this first novel in the trilogy. This marrying of cyberpunk and detective fiction works surprisingly well, with our hero unwillingly modified with brain implants to allow him to better function as a detective and assassin. Bizarrely imagined, and ceaselessly inventive, and really a delight. Am looking forward to reading A Fire in the Sun.
