Please see my detailed review at Amazon Graceann's "Their Finest Hour and a Half" Review" I loved every page of this brilliantly-written homage to London, wartime can-do spirit and creative film-making. This book really ticked all the boxes for me (a book about the making of a movie in the heart of Blitz-weary London? It might as well have been called "A Book for Graceann"). The characters are well-developed (especially the grumpily hilarious Ambrose Hilliard) and I grew to love each of them for their own special quirks.
Becky Bloomwood gets herself into scrapes that no one could possibly get out of. But she seems to, and it is always fun to see how she weasels her way out of really hard situations. This book is no exception, in fact it may be the most dramatic of all the shopaholic books. Sophie Kinsella is a witty writer, and I always get a few laughs out of her books.
