In keeping with pseudo-Utopian futuristic science-fiction novels, I decided to read this one after I finished "Brave New World." I was going to read "1984" next, but apparently I don't have a copy of it. Anyway...I liked this one a lot. It's fast-paced, with great characters, even the ones that only show up for a scene or two. I wouldn't have minded seeing more of Clarise, who was one of most inriguing characters I've read recently, but it makes perfect sense, and fits in the story, that she only had a few pages. The edition of the book I have contains an Afterword, which is cool, and a Coda, which is even cooler. I almost enjoyed reading Bradbury's Coda as much as I enjoyed reading the rest of the book.
Really loved the series, made my Greek mythology fanatic then 8 year old very happy. Rick Riordan has a gift for getting kids "right" and we have yet to miss anything he has written.
