Wow, these books don't end so much as just pause for a breather. Which I probably need after over 900 engrossing pages. Instead of being disjointed or confusing, Martin's structure of jumping around from one character's perspective to another provides both a great flow of the overall story and the abililty to really "bond" with each character. Even characters you think are on the "wrong side". My only complaint is the same as book 1 - do we need to know every name of every ship and every knight etc etc. It's easy to gloss by when things get bogged down in too many details like that though. I think it would drive me nuts if I was reading this series as it came out over many years. It's comforting to know I've already got 2 more books waiting for me and another soon to be published so that I can return to the world of kings and wolves and dragons whenever I am ready.
