I really really enjoyed this book, yet I can't quite articulate why: it had some rough areas that seemed to drag, but never quite enough that I felt compelled to put it down or abandon it altogether. When I first finished I thought that the ending was abrupt, but after I thought about it, the way it ends really fits with the whole tone. All things considered, I think that I liked this better than The Virgin Suicides; but I may have to reread that one to decide.
