A good book to read if your in the mood for a thriller. Other then that, it was just OK. This book reminds me of Angels and Demons, a mystery thriller with some difficult terminology.
I try to read at least one Cowboys-related book before the start of each football season, so when I got the ARC copy of Breakthrough Boys I picked it as this year's pre-season read. It is written by a journalist, and reads like it. It is a very straight forward, easy, fact-based read about the 1971 Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys (the first Cowboys team to win the Super Bowl). Not a lot of emotions, psychological/philosophical depth, or poetry to be found in this telling. That said, if you like the Cowboys you'll probably like this. I enjoy these early-era books because it's a part of team history that I wasn't around for, but are constantly referred to around these parts.
I have enjoyed this author, but I agree with Michelle... many love stories in this one.
