Another big let down. I was excited to start a novel about a woman discovering magic and her own possible talents. Then it just turned into a silly murder chase. Throw in the stupid over-played, two attractive men interests, and I was done. The story was not believable. No way would this little nobody be allowed to run around poking her nose in people's business and on top of that, coming up with the wrong solutions! The facts were spelled out to clearly and just left me annoyed at the main character. Plus, she doesn't even use her magic talents and/or what does finally emerge is a retarded whisper. Nope, not worth the time. I will not be reading the rest of the series.

This was my first book from this author and I liked it. Didn't love it, though. It was a good historical, but I wanted something more from the main characters. More passion, love etc. Perhaps I should try some of her other works... We'll see =)

An engaging, fun read. Smith's characters are unforgettable.
